The League of Augsburg
Serious question to Blog followers... read on!
I frequently get asked for some quite specialized figure origination. Most of the requests are serious and worthy of consideration but what is often not at the front of the questioner's mind is the cost to the manufacturer ie, me!
You might want a particular unit or figure for your collection. You may want only 15 or 20 models which in sales terms is perhaps £25-£30. The margin on this is of course...
It's St Patrick's Day so...
We can't let today pass without featuring some Irish action from the Nine Years War on the blog. So I thought the best way to pay tribute to the theatre and the fighting men which has given me the most stimulation to understand the period in the last thirty years was to simply create a photo montage of action and inspiration in Ireland from the League of Augsburg..
Happy St Patrick's day to...
Ottoman armoured sipahis - due for release late Spring.
Clib has done and absolutely outstanding job on these armoured sipahis which could be used from the mid 16th to early 18th century with a bit of a stretch either side. The variety is superb and uses the same design principles that have been adopted for much of the cavalry for the last couple of years - split waist style for missle weapon armed men.
I am honestly unsure whether we have completed 15...

Normal service is being resumed at Warfare Miniatures
I am glad to say that although it has actually taken a year, normal service is being resumed in terms of figure availability.
For those who have been missing codes from the range for a while - a look today will evidence that the bulk of the cavalry has now reappeared.
I also hope to make the Cossacks available within the next 7-10 days too.
More of an explanation of how things will change going...
GNW Swedes from.. Russia! The work of Alexey Kovshikov
Thanks Alexey for sending these fine images of GNW Swedes. I am happy to say I now have several customers in Russia and GNW is proving of course, pretty popular.
I am even more curious abut the other period which seems to be popular with my Russian customers.... King William's War in Ireland!
A mixture of Warfare and I think, Ebor? miniatures.
Dhow about this? 28mm scale.
Undoubtedly, left field but, when I saw it, several little projects aligned - Tangier, Omani and Indian pirates, 4Play scenarios, Donnybrook and the new naval rules I am devoting a lot of creative time to.
Crew are Warfare Miniatures - Ottoman Irregulars OT11/OT12 packs + new officers |
I have warmed up hugely to laser cut models. With a little care they can be lifted from the prosaic to characterful...

Feature: Scenario pack: Lighting the fuse. Derry 1688/1689
Lord Mountjoy's Regiment leave the city in November 1688 |
New knowledge from my own doorstep. The Argyll Rebellion 1685.
Anyone interested in the period will automatically associate the year 1685 with James II & VII's ascension to the throne and.... The Monmouth Rebellion. The Argyll Rebellion, which overlapped and was inextricably linked with Monmouth's adventure is not very well known and often dismissed in a few lines allowing all gunsights to be retrained yet again on the West Country Protestant rising.

Ottoman gunners - sculpts completed
I have been holding back on certain posts for a while simply because I wanted to see how things were unfolding with Covid and supply chain issues such as manufacturing and master moulding.
Things are slowly getting resolved but overall, I will have to implement wholesale changes in the way that I get products to market.Ultimately, that will be to everyone's benefit but during the transition,...
